The Finnova-Technovation Challenges award the prizes of their second edition

  • In the Junior category the group «Make a Change» won with their application «Re Outfit Me».

The jury of the Finnova – Technovation Challenges has announced the winning teams of the second edition. This initiative, based on the Technovation Girls curriculum, rewards excellence in youth technological entrepreneurship, which is capable of providing solutions to real problems proposed by Finnova – Startup Europe Awards.

In the Senior category, the first prize went to the Helium group, whose proposal consists of promoting sustainable tourism in empty Extremadura, using disused buildings. In the Junior category, the winner was the group Make a Change and its application Re Outfit Me, dedicated to the renewable industry in the textile sector and which is inspired by the COSME project CirCoAX by CircularInnoBooster.

The president of the jury and coordinator of the Challenges, Lola Bordás, highlighted that «all the initiatives proposed great ideas to generate disruptive changes in the environment and completely aligned with the SDGs and the 2030 Agenda

For her part, the ambassador of the Technovation Girls programme in the Valencian Community, María José Valero, stressed «we need to support entrepreneurship and the talent of young people, because they are the future. To guarantee this future, it is crucial to provide them with motivation. This is what we achieve with experiences such as those proposed by Technovation Girls supported by Finnova

The event was attended by the members of the jury, made up of Lola Bordás, Patricia Tejada, Consuelo Cáceres, Natalia Cediel and Patricia Cavanillas, from the Finnova Foundation. Also in attendance was Paz Carceller, Mayoress of Puçol, who invited the Feminine Impact team to present their idea to the local government. David Allo from Texfor and the consortium of CirCoAX by CircularInnoBooster, Esther Amaya, director of IES Alba Plata, from Fuentes de Cantos (Extremadura) and the mayoress of the town, Carmen Pagador, were also present at the event.
