ISEM visits Finnova’s offices in Brussels to discuss future collaborations in European projects in the fashion sector

05/04/2023, Brussels. The Finnova Foundation team, led by its CEO, Juanma Revuelta, met last April 5th in Brussels with Silvia Pérez Bou, professor and academic director of »The Right Product» programme of ISEM Fashion Business School in a technical networking visit.

ISEM Fashion Business School is a center of the University of Navarra dedicated to professionalize the fashion industry being a center focused on uniting management with creativity, providing knowledge and tools to offer a comprehensive training to students in a climate of freedom that supports and aspires to work well done. Among others, it highlights the project ‘‘Glossary of sustainability for fashion and food», a catalog of words related to the fusion between sustainability, fashion and food in which several European universities participate in a consortium of cooperation for higher education within the Erasmus +KA2 programme.

The glossary has six modules where you can find various general concepts, production, value chain, distribution, communication and policies. A glossary full of easy to understand information to be able to interpret the terms and growth issues of great importance for fashion and food, such as the environment, the care of resources, respect for workers, among others.

During the meeting in Brussels, future possibilities for cooperation and capitalization of results were also discussed. Thus, triangular cooperation was discussed in the program to be launched on April 18 ADELANTE Window 2023, an innovative program of Triangular Cooperation with Latin America and the Caribbean, whose overall objective is to contribute to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through strengthened regional cooperation initiatives.

Finally, the success story of the CirCoAx by Circular Inno Booster project was presented, a COSME program project aimed at promoting the competitiveness of companies and small and medium-sized enterprises by financing numerous initiatives to help them access new markets.

About CirCoAX by Circular Inno Booster

CircoAX by Circular Inno Booster is a COSME project (Program for the Competitiveness of Enterprises and Small and Medium Enterprises of the European Union) that seeks to stimulate the transition of SMEs in the textile and fashion sector towards regenerative, circular and sustainable businesses from a collaborative approach. With a duration of 2 years, it has a budget of 1,128,000 euros, 75% co-financed by the European Commission. The project is composed of an international consortium led by the European Institute of Design (IED), together with Texfor, Circulab, Finnova and The Circular Project with HumanNation. It takes a holistic approach to the circular economy based on the principles of regenerative industries, co-creation and community engagement models. The goal is to achieve the broadest application of circularity, considering in a balanced way the environmental, social and economic dimensions.

COSME is the Competitiveness of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises program of the European Commission’s Executive Agency for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (EASME). Through this program, assistance is provided to SMEs to help them develop their business models, access financing and internationalize.

It also provides support to public administrations so that they can improve the business environment and facilitate economic growth in the European Union. During the 2014-2020 funding period, this program allocated €2.3 billion to support SMEs.
