City, Neighbourhood, Village: Three city models will showcase a fashion that will transform the way we dress and live.
CSFW MADRID 2022 returns once again to the city of Madrid as a benchmark event for sustainable and circular fashion within and beyond our borders. After seven years of urban fashion shows based on eco-design, with different, inclusive, diverse and low social and environmental impact catwalks, this is the most awaited event of the year.
These catwalks, promoted by The Circular Project with the collaboration of the Spanish Association for Sustainability, Innovation and Circularity in Fashion (SIC Modaes) on this occasion make the City the protagonist in its relations of proximity, that City of 15 minutes, an urban concept popularised by the mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo and which seeks a return to the local way of life where citizens find their vital needs satisfied in their immediate environment.
For this reason, the urban catwalks will have three different outdoor stages where three city models will be shown and united: the city or business in Castellana with the support of IE University, the city-neighbourhood in Carabanchel with the support of IED Innovation Lab and Carabanchel Distrito Cultural and the city-village in Pinto, with the support of Pinto City Council.
As usual, its three fashion shows: Ecodesign, Upcycling and Pasarela 17 will show how design and ecology can go hand in hand and be full of creativity.
In addition, two days of conferences, three workshops, a meeting with Pinto’s local commerce and the presentation of ten projects selected within the CirCoAX by CircularInnoBooster programme will complete a proposal whose ultimate goal is a change of habits in the way we dress in order to stop the second most polluting industry on the planet.
A more conscious, sustainable and circular way of dressing that also values textile waste as a raw material and the first step towards the Circular Economy applied to industry.
The 2022 edition will have the support of numerous institutions and alliances with organisations such as Pinto City Council, IED Innovation Lab, IE University Fashion Club, Carabanchel Cultural District, Apoyo Positivo, Greenpeace, PEFC Spain, Fashion Revolution Spain, Fundación Alas, Fundación Cepaim, Observatorio Moda Ética y Sostenible, Asociación Española para la Sostenibilidad, Innovación y Circularidad en Moda, CirCoAX by CircularInnoBooster, Madrid Capital de Moda.
Likewise, the CO2 emissions of all the activities carried out during the CSFW Madrid will be analysed and will give rise to a report prepared by the company Hands on Impact. The space selected for the reforestation of the space will compensate in its life cycle the CO2 emitted and this project will be registered with the Ministry of Ecological Transition for its proper management of CO2 absorption.
The CSFW 2021 edition was awarded by Time Out magazine as the best sustainable event and this year promises to follow the same path.
