·       Finnova Foundation attended for the second year in a row the Textiles Recycling Expo 2026, held on 24 and 25 June at Brussels Expo.

·       The event brought together key actors from the textile and recycling value chain to address the challenges of textile waste management, circularity and sustainable innovation.

Brussels, 26 June 2026 – On 24 and 25 June, Finnova Foundation attended for the second year in a row, the Textiles Recycling Expo 2026, held at Brussels Expo, the top European event, dedicated to textile recycling, circular economy and sustainable innovation in the textile, manufacturing and footwear sector.

Over the course of two dynamic days, the expo provided a valuable space for networking, exhibition of top technological resources for textiles and strategic exchange for recyclers, waste managers, textile manufacturers, retailers, technology providers and other stakeholders committed to sustainability.

The fair provides the opportunity to discover the latest developments in sorting, shredding and recycling technologies for fibres, fabrics, garments, footwear and non-wovens. Key topics included textile waste valorisation, circular material innovation, regulatory developments, fibre-to-fibre recycling and the need to scale up sustainable solutions across the value chain.

These priorities were also reflected in the Textiles Recycling Awards 2026, which recognised outstanding initiatives driving innovation and circularity across the sector. (Winners available at: https://events.amiplastics.com/textiles-recycling-expo/textiles-recycling-awards).

During the event, Finnova Foundation also presented two of its ongoing initiatives, RAICES (https://raicesproject.eu/) and CIRCULAB, highlighting their contribution to sustainability and circular economy objectives. In the case of the CIRCULAB project, the expo provided a valuable opportunity to engage with leading experts and stakeholders in textile recycling and circular fashion, with a view to fostering future collaboration and identifying potential speakers and partners for upcoming activities at Colombiamoda (https://colombiamoda.com/en/), where the project will continue promoting dialogue on sustainable innovation in the textile sector.

These two projects are part of Next Textile Generation (https://nextextilegeneration.eu/), Finnova’s platform initiative dedicated to fostering innovation and sustainability in the textile sector through European cooperation. Within this framework, the Foundation promotes and implements several EU-funded projects focused on sustainable textiles and circular fashion, including Textile4all, AL-INVEST Verde, Moda Sostenible, and CirCoAX, reinforcing its commitment to accelerating the green transition of the textile industry.

The event also provided Finnova Foundation an opportunity to explore future collaboration with top European leaders of textiles, including companies, institutions and organisations working towards a more sustainable textile industry.

Through its attendance as visitors at the Textiles Recycling Expo 2026, Finnova Foundation reinforces its commitment to promoting Innovation, Sustainability and European cooperation, supporting initiatives that contribute to the transition towards a more circular, responsible and competitive textile sector.
