In the second week of the Textile Sustainability Specialist Operator course, part of the Textil4all project, we have made great strides towards improving employability skills. This programme is designed to train participants in a booming sector, with a focus on sustainability and personal development.
Here we tell you what we have been working on during these days:
CV enhancement and career guidance
The employability skills week began with a session led by Almudena, our job seeker, where we worked in depth on the CV: how to structure it, which parts to highlight and how to adapt it to different job offers. In addition, we explored the different career opportunities in the textile sector and the profiles that companies are looking for. The participants learned not only about the necessary technical skills, but also about the soft skills that make them stand out in the job market. We also had the participation of Nuria Cavia, founder of Deleite Wear, who talked about her incredible textile project and how together we can change the current trend of pollution.
Conflict resolution at work
Another key session was led by Andrea, our community team member and psychologist. We worked on tools for managing and resolving conflicts in the work environment, a fundamental aspect of teamwork and ensuring a positive working environment.
Creativity and sustainability: the creative sewing workshop
Thursday was a special day thanks to our volunteer Scarlet Mora, who led a creative sewing workshop. Using recycled fabrics, the participants created unique purses, encouraging not only creativity, but also awareness about the reuse of materials. This workshop certainly connected perfectly with the sustainability values of the course.
Personal development dynamics
On Friday we closed the week with a focus on transversal competences. We reflected on flexibility, adaptability, responsibility and worked with the dynamics of the tree of strengths, which allowed participants to identify their skills and improve their self-concept and self-esteem.
One more step towards a sustainable future
This week has been intense and transformative thanks to the knowledge of employability skills. The participants have not only acquired technical knowledge, but also personal skills that prepare them to face the challenges of the sustainable textile sector. We keep moving forward with energy!
