- The initiative will showcase how SMEs in Peru and Colombia are advancing towards sustainability and the circular economy with the support of the EU’s AL-INVEST Verde Programme
The AL-INVEST Verde Moda Sostenible project will take part in MOMAD 2026, Spain’s leading fashion trade fair organised by IFEMA Madrid and held from Thursday 5 to Saturday 7 February 2026, with the aim of showcasing initiatives that promote sustainability, the circular economy, and the internationalisation of Latin American fashion towards Europe. During the fair, the project will highlight how SMEs from Peru and Colombia are moving towards more responsible, circular, and competitive production models thanks to technical support and opportunities to connect with the European ecosystem.
MOMAD has established itself as a strategic meeting point for brands, designers, distributors, and multi-brand retailers seeking new trends, partnerships, and innovative solutions in the fields of fashion, footwear, and accessories. The trade fair brings together areas dedicated to Textile Apparel, Footwear, and Accessories, as well as thematic spaces such as Sustainable Experience, focused on sustainable fashion, making MOMAD an ideal platform to present projects that accelerate the ecological transition of the sector.
Within this context, AL-INVEST Verde Moda Sostenible will showcase how the European Union’s AL-INVEST Verde Programme supports micro, small, and medium-sized fashion enterprises in Peru and Colombia on their path towards sustainability, through specialised training, technical assistance, sustainability certifications, and actions designed to facilitate access to international markets. The project focuses on reducing the environmental impact of the industry, promoting ethical and circular practices, and fostering new business opportunities between Europe and Latin America.
The Finnova Foundation, a project partner, will be present at MOMAD to further disseminate AL-INVEST Verde Moda Sostenible and share its progress and results. Rocío Armada, Project Officer at Finnova, will represent the project during the fair.
About AL-INVEST Verde Moda Sostenible
AL-INVEST Verde Moda Sostenible is a strategic initiative of the AL-INVEST Verde Programme, funded by the European Union, aimed at promoting sustainable development and the internationalisation of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the fashion sector in Peru and Colombia.
With a budget of €372,424.72 and a duration of 20 months, the project is implemented in Lima and Ica (Peru) and in Bogotá and 59 municipalities in the department of Cundinamarca (Colombia). Its objective is to strengthen the capacities of more than 300 MSMEs in sustainability, certification processes, and access to international markets.
The project is led by the Finnova Foundation (Spain), the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce (Colombia), and the Peruvian Sustainable Fashion Cluster, with the support of academic and governmental institutions, to promote a more circular, competitive, and environmentally responsible fashion industry.
